Today's Hi-Technology TVs- HDTV

HDTV indicates High Definition Television. The Digital HDTV Grand Alliance introduced this technology around 1990s in the US initially. This is defined as 1080 active lines, 16 x 9 aspect proportionally in ITU-R BT.709.

High defintion TV implies broadcast of fullscreen pictures with more and more details and clearness than found in usual analogue TV, or some another digital TVs formats. However it is the highest quality Digital Television (DTV) screen format around.

High defintion television is attainable in rear screen, direct-view, plasma, and front screen projection. HDTV can be visualised only through HDTV tuner and 1080i is the most specific HDTV format.
