Who's fired up!? It's New Years Eve! (well, those of you across the pond, you may already be in 2003) It could be a one heck (I censored that) of a party. It's about time to go out and start the night. I hope that I don't end up in some sort of incarceration. (If I spelled that correctly, you all owe me $2). Now it's time for the random thought of the night. I am a bit difficult with those darn analog clocks. (I call them analog for lack of a better term. You know, the ones with the big hand, and the little hand, and in the case of Bavarians, some sort of bird) I have so much more luck getting the correct time reading from a digital one. I don't know why, it's just always been that way. Like tonight, I said it was like 5:35 and Janene corrected me saying it was in fact 6:45. Well, oh, ok then clock master! I never know what time it is anyway. I NEVER wear a watch. Never have. Now go about your lives....

This is pretty neat. Ever thought about your content getting used on the net? For example, your photos or graphic art? Want to allow it to be used, partially or only under certain circumstances, without giving up your rights in other copyright situations? A new project has been started by a group called Creative Commons. Sounds like a great idea to me. I've often wondered about this type of thing before. Once again, I got beat to the punch.

What happened to the days when Southern gentlemen settled things a bit different?
W.Virginian: You have insulted my honor! I demand satisfaction. I challenge you to a duel. What say you sir? Virginian: I accept! I choose pistols at dawn. How's that for stereotypes?

My inability to come up with anything that even has a slight bit of interesting subject matter for anyone who comes here and reads is irritating me. (that sentence sucked) I don't know what it is. Weekends come, and I got nothing. Nothing of interest to show. Guess my brain only works a Monday-Friday week as well. Guess that would explain a lot to some of you that know me. No fabulous links of things that are idiotic, and leave you wondering how in the hell I found that. Darn. I know you're disapointed. Sorry. I'll include a picture of me laying on the floor during Christmas. Would that work?

Alien adbuctions! Now that I got your attention let me pass on some important information to you. There is, aparently, a large alien invasion planned. At what point and where, my research has not determined. (i.e. it didn't pop up in a simple Google search, so I gave up) According to a very credible source, aliens use telepathic abilities to control us! I was as shocked as you were! One would think they would use something a bit more exotic, like some witty brainwashing literature to control our actions. Thank God this guy has a way we can protect ourselves.

Ok, ealier mentioned post was abandoned. I found something to occupy some time, so I never finished it. Basically it went on about exactly what my first purchases would be if I won the $280 million Powerball Lottery. Outside of the obligitory bill paying and giving money to friends. Getting the benevolent actions crap out of the way, you know you're gonna go out and purchase something like this. But, as Homer puts it, money isn't everything.

I have no idea what I'm supposed to be doing today. The family plans are top secret, and I don't have code clearance. I'm only informed as to what, when, and where about 15 minutes beforehand. So, it's like I'm in a perpetual state of alert. Keep the cell phone charged and handy at all times. Never know when I'm gonna get my orders. Ive been goaded into writing another post prematur
Ive been goaded into writing another post prematurely. You see, I must take my time and ponder each and every word I post, but oh nooooo the blogmaster wants another post.....like NOW. So pushy I tell you. First I must rant on about shopping in Germany. I went the weekend before I took the wonderfully long flight back here to the States and it was a typical German shopping excursion chocked full of rude customers and unbelievably messy stores. Let me explain what it's like to shop in Germany. But first, all of you that have that grandiose idea about going into a quaint little store where there is a man standing behind the counter wearing lederhosen you have to throw that completely out of your mind. The only time Ive seen lederhosen actually worn was at Oktoberfest.......which is a whole other post, some other time. Ok, so I set off to go shopping in Mainz. Leave the house perfectly fine, I have my walking shoes (because you cant get anywhere in Germany without walking a few miles from where you parked), my Euros and a list of things to buy. The 20 minute drive was without incident, accident or traffic........odd for Germany but as I was soon to find out, that was probably because everyone was parked in the particular garage I wanted to park in. I get to the garage and the sign says besetze......"oh man, now where am I going to park" I was particularly upset because it was almost 2 pm, the stores close at 4 on Saturdays and aren't even open on Sundays. So Im on a time crunch. Back to the parking garage....sign says besetze, frei besetze frei besetze besetze besetze.......I don't think Im ever going to get into this garage. I sit in line for a good 30 minutes waiting for people to leave the garage. I do like the fact that most public parking garages have signs that tell you whether it is full or not before you even get all the way up to the garage. Some even have a sign displaying the exact number of slots left in that garage. So I finally get up to the garage. Now its time to play the game of chance. Chance because the only way Im getting into the garage is because one person just left, so your brilliant art of deduction probably tells you that there should be at least ONE open slot in the garage, and you are right. But what you probably don't think about is the jackass the parks crooked or the fact that my car is so large that I literally take up the ENTIRE slot. Every other person in Germany owns a teeny tiny car they can park in a matchbox but not me, Ive got to drive the mammoth car. Back my excursion.....I finally found a slot once I drove around and around and around and around to the top of the garage. Whew, that part of the experience was over.....now I have to contend with the crowds. I think every day of the week every German is out shopping. You could go on a Tuesday morning at 1000 am and find the stores packed. I swear Germans don't work. So Saturdays are even worse for the crowds because those few Germans who decided to sleep in on Tuesday are out in full force and they left their warm and friendly attitudes at home (if they ever had one). Everyone is on a mission while shopping and that mission is to not make eye contact, not be polite and to stand right in front of whatever you want to look at. If they blatantly bump into you, you don't even get so much as an excuse me or anything. You could have been standing there for 15 minutes without moving and this person will just mow you down. Totally the opposite I found here in the States when I went shopping the other day. Of course there are those rude ones here in the States but not EVERYONE is rude here. So I finally manage to get to the intended location at 330, just in time to make some quick decisions about linens and be out of the store before it closed in half an hour. And people wonder why I hate to shop in Germany....... My next rant is about Anthrax....not about contracting it, but about receiving the shot that supposedly will prevent me from getting it, should I happen to hang out at a feed lot or on a farm too long. First of all, it didn't bother me to have to go and get this shot, the government is taking precautions I think it should be taking and I am just lucky enough to be on the list. I don't have the fears of developing some strange mutation or having deformed children so fine and dandy, I have to bare my arm for a nice little shot..........or so I thought. Before I had to get naked.....ok, so I didn't have to get naked....we were subjected to a nice little informative brief about Anthrax and the different types out there. Ingestion, inhalation etc etc. Can I just say gross, the pictures shown were just disgusting....almost to the point of making you run right over to get the shot. If anyone wants the brief, just let me know I'll pass it on. Ok, now Im ready for the shot. Shots in general don't bother me, I actually like to watch being poked with the needle, its fascinates me for some reason. So I wasn't apprehensive or nervous about getting the shot......I should have been and you'll realize why after I explain it all. The whole assembly line process was not set up well enough to handle to huge amount of people waiting to get the shot. I think then entire company went all at the same moment (just for you information, my company is about 350 people) so I stood in line for at least an hour. Why the chose the Chapel as the location for the shot I can only imagine. Maybe so everyone's prayers would be heard before and after they took the shot.....either that or so God would hear their swearing. As you stand in line you can see in the room where everyone is getting the shot. Everyone seems pretty sedate and ok, no one is crying, convulsing or anything else. All seems normal. I finally snake my way up to get the shot. I was a little upset because I didn't even get to pick which arm I got the shot in....you'd think I would at least get a choice in that, once again I had to remember I was in the Army.....we don't get choices. So I stepped right up to this little nurse, she says ok, you'll feel a little sting. Meaning that I would feel the prick of the needle. Thinking "ok, yeah it wont hurt" and it didn't.......at least not until she started shooting me full of fire. No one that went through the line before me said anything about someone throwing lighter fluid on your arm then tossing a match on top. What topped that part off was the lady saying "whoa, you got a lump quick, it takes most people a while longer" Yeah lady, exactly what I wanted to hear. And you'd think that was the end......oh no. Luckily the burning and stinging sensation subsided after about 10 minutes of waiting in another freakin line to get it all input into a computer. You cant really mind that much though, its probably the only thing that will keep the Army from trying to inoculate you with 30 things you've already got. I swear I cant count the number of times Ive gotten the different types of Hepatitis shots. But back to the Anthrax. So here it is almost a week later and I still have a little lump and a nice bruise. Over the week I haven't been able to sleep on that arm, Ive had it bumped into countless times on the airplane and it just plain hurts. (Sympathy please) But Im on the downward slide........or am I? Probably the day I get back to Germany I'll get the next one in the series. And how many shots are in the series you ask?? 6!!!! And then an annual booster. Sounds like fun doesn't it? And then that's all......oh wait, now its time for the smallpox vaccine. Will it ever end? So the flight back to the States was all too typical. Although this time I didn't get sat next to the fat lady that spilled over into my seat, or the guy who insisted on putting his feet on my side but I didn't get Mr.. Halitosis. Not so bad when he was awake but watch out when he fell asleep. Now you are thinking that Im exaggerating because after 8 hours on a plane almost everyone has bad breath. True enough but this guy had it from the moment he sat down next to me and I could just tell from the condition of his teeth that he was not the best at personal hygiene. He would fall asleep with his head back and mouth open, probably a very common way to sleep in those most uncomfortable chairs but all of the sudden I would just get a whiff of something incredibly nasty and would look over and there he was eyes closed and mouth open. I didn't want to be so rude as to tell him or wake him up because lord knows its hard enough to sleep on the plane without someone waking you up and telling you that you stink. So I just break out the old laptop for a little DVD watching. Don't they play movies on the plane? Why yes, yes they do. They actually played three movies and to their credit, they didn't look too bad. What was too bad was that when you plugged your headset in, you get the sound of the movie as well as some feedback that was so annoying you would rather just pretend you could read lips and guess at what they were saying. I opted for my fall back of DVDs. One small problem that I was able to overlook was the fact that the seat in front of you was so darn close that when you put the computer on the tray that it was sitting almost touching your chest. Makes it a little hard to watch a movie but I persevered. So did everyone behind me who was watching over my shoulder. Guess they wanted to pretend they could read lips too. Darn the fact that the battery on the laptop doesn't last very long and I only got my email inbox cleaned up and one movie watched. That passed by 2 hours of the 8 relatively painlessly. The other 6 were not as great. Probably because I had Harry Potter running up and down the aisle next to me and banging into the back of my chair every pass. I swear he thought it was pretty funny to annoy me......which most of you know is quite easy. I finally made it through the entire flight with an entire hour of sleep.....not consecutively unfortunately. Next came the ordeal of immigration and customs. If any of you have ever been through it you know what Im talking about. No no, nothing like crossing the border from Mexico or anything. This is much much worse. You've got plane loads of people who don't speak english (and Im sure when americans visit other counties they think the same about us) just milling around because they don't know where to go. Doesn't make it easy to find a line that is actually moving. Good for me though Ive never had any hassle at either stop. One time being in the military is actually advantageous. Two more flights later I make it to my final destination. (No, not the movie) But where is my mommy? Ahh, come to find out she's outside at the car trying to not get it ticketed and cant leave it because people keep circling it wondering what the heck kind of car it is. That's what you get for buying a strange car :) Now Im just as happy as a clam to be back in the States and with my family. How happy is a clam? Ive asked that same question....I don't really know. Anyone that has ever taken a vacation knows that vacations can almost be more tiring that actually being at work. I think that is going to be true of this trip. I always try to jam pack my trip with short trips to see as many people as possible. This time is no exception. Lets see, I flew in to OKC on Wed, shopped all day Thurs, flew out to TX Thurs night, drove back to OKC on Sat and now it looks like we are driving to Salina either this afternoon or tomorrow. My goodness Im going to need a few days off when I get back to Germany. Too bad I wont get any. Ok, Im done ranting for now. Now I have to wish everyone a safe and happy holiday!

Finally, inching closer to be able to go home. That then brings me to the next dilemma. What to do when I get home. There is a KU game on right when I get home, but that wont last all night. Some friends might be in town for the Christmas time of year. We'll see though. Have not got any messages from any so far, but I'm not at home so..... Maybe I'll get a bunch of toothpicks and try to build a bridge. You know, something like an architect student would have to do. Doing my part...
Doing my part... Doing what I can to give you all something to not read. Being totally inane and boring isn't all that easy. Really. I've been over at weblogs.com and still been noticing most of the entries carry some political diatribe. Weblogs seem to be infested with a large amounts of liberals. Probably media types. :-) Although, I have stumbled across a few right-wing nuts too. I'm still not doing enough to disperse my political views into cyberspace. Fine by me! Lately at our house we've been sucked into the Playstation world. No, not the Playstation 2. The original. Oh yeah, my roommate has the old playstation and a ton of games, like 75 or so. But, we're hooked on Syphon Filter. Yes, the first in the series. We played this one before, but now we're sucked in again, trying to beat level after level. Staying up all hours of the night. What else we gonna do? Where's the snow? White Christmas anyone? Actually, I'd rather have a bit of snow to do some sledding. I need some activity from my youth, that I can try and re-live part of my childhood with, and in the process break an arm. Playing tag just isn't going to do that.

Been sitting here staring a blank space, trying to think of what to write about today. It's been one of those mornings where nothing terribly exciting has happened yet. Searching all the normal news outlets and nothing jumps out as relatively intersting. Someone somewhere has to be doing something that can pique my interest. **updated at 10:03** Something exciting did happen. I got a call from a friend who had something important happen in their life. They were very excited about it. Good for them.

Hehehe! I love that cat picture. ANYWAY..... I noticed that I got a lot of spelling and grammar errors in my posts. I don't care. You sort them out. Just got home from the Two Towers. What a great movie. Just as good as the first one. Comparing my take on the movies against my roommate I've noticed something. He really enjoyed both of the movies, and thought they were great visual feats and a pretty good story. He didn't however appreciate it on the same level as me. Not bragging or anything, but you see, he's never read the books. A reading of of The Hobbit, and the LOTR trilogy gives me a broader understanding of exactly what's going on. The movies deviate from the books, as a movie must do, but they're pretty faithful to the books. Therefore, I've got the knowledge to backfill the story in the places the movies have to leave out for times sake. Makes the enjoyment of the movies that much greater. Think of your favorite movie. Then think of being able to know much more of the detail of that movie that you didn't get from watching it. Characters inner thoughts, past experiences that made them what they are, and created the plot line. I say to you. If you have not read the books, do so. They are a great read. Not only on the cool level, but on a literary one as well. While reading think about how much work, Tolkien put into the world he creates. He created languages from scratch. Complete languages. Not just one, several. This guy was a genius, and the worlds he creates are complete down to the smallest detail. Ok, I've ranted on long enough. Go see the movie. It rocked......

I'm not exactly sure what's going on today. I've been sore bored out of my skull that I think a few things passed me by. Oh well, work isn't that hard. Going the the Two Towers tonight. I heard it was pretty packed last night. Guess we're going to have to go real early. I don't want to have to wait in that long of a line, and I hate sitting in the theater for 30 minutes and then sit through a 3 hour movie. My butt can't take it.

Top Christmas Holiday Pet Peeves These are in no particular order of importance. 1. Christmas songs. Now most of these darn songs just grate on me. I am not one for Christmas carols. Heard some oldie song today about some kid who wants a Hippopotamus for Christmas. What the heck was that? 2. It's a Wonderful Life. Not a fan of this show. Have tried to watch this several times and can't get more than 15 minutes into it. It annoys me to no end. If you like the movie, that's fine. I don't. I guess this also was a radio broadcast show in the 1940's or 50's. They're going to broadcast that radio version here soon. It'll probably annoy me too. 3. People with too much yard art and Christmas lights. We all know these houses. They have so many lights on their house that it's like an artificial sun at night. So bright you can't look directly at the house without the use of one of those hommade devices for looking at solar eclipses. Then comes the yard art. 50 plastic Santa's, reindeer, elves, Nativity scenes, and pink flamingo's all in like a tiny little yard. It all looks like a big Christmas yard sale going on. 4. The person you ask what they want for Christmas, and their answer is..... nothing. Sure you want something. Just tell me. It's human nature to want things. That's ok. Just tell me!!! I don't want to have to guess about a gift. 'Cause I know it's gonna be wrong. All the people who say that from now on are going to get the same thing. A rat terrier. See how they like that! 5. Obligitory questions. You know. When you have gathered with the family for the holidays, each aunt, uncle, grandparent, or anyone really, starts asking the same questions as always. How's work? What is it you do again? and stuff like this. You all have been there, so you know. 6. People who pick the pretzels out of the Chex Mix. Now, why is it that you do this? You just want pretzels? Then get a bag of pretzels. There was Chex Mix made because people wanted Chex Mix, not Chex Mix without the pretzels. SO KNOCK IT OFF!! 7. Never had a Christmas Miracle. 26 years and no Christmas Miracles. None. Christmas has never been on the verge of not happening, and been saved by a mischevious little scamp and his faithful canine companion. It happens all the time on TV, and if TV is wrong, I don't wanna be right. That's it. All 7 of them. Some people like to make lists in certain increments. Like a list of 5, or 10. Not me... 7, that's it.

I was going to make a post this evening about something stupid. Something like, why the CHiPS theme song is in my head all the time, or why I have so many brown shoes. Then I saw Janene's post below. Now I won't. When one of your best friends has a bad evening, you just want to be somewhat helpful. If you can answer her question please go ahead and post below. I can not answer that question. I don't suck. Maybe somebody wants to shed some insight into this? I'll talk to all tomorrow, and Janene, remember we don't all suck. Just most of us :-)

I just got off the phone with a car dealer, trying to get my car in for service and get an owners manual. You'd think someone should know how to transfer, but no. After the third call, I was transfered, to the wrong dept, and then to a fax line. So I call back again. This time I ask for a salesman and they transfer to parts. Now I've been on hold for about 5 mins. Grrrrrr!

Read an article on financial wellness today. Basically it was explaining a book called "The Millionaire Next Door" by researchers Thomas J. Stanley and William D. Danko. They explain what your net worth should be by a certain age using a simple formula. That you need to take your income and multiply that by your age, then divide by 10. Ouch. I did that for myself. I'm WAY off. Try it yourself. See what you come up with. There are problems with the formula though. As pointed out in this CNBC article Guess I need more assets.....

Basketball. In my own opinion the greatest game. I can watch basketball all day long, and it doesn't matter what teams are playing. Of course, when it comes to college it's KU all the way. Last few years though, I've been developing a liking of the NBA. Now, I never much liked the NBA before. Games just didn't seem all that exciting. Yes, I like the rest of basketball fans were captivated by the Chicago Bulls and Air Jordan create a dynasty. But other than that, I just couldn't watch a game where even the slighteest touch resulted in a foul call, but refs couldn't spot a travel if they were notified ahead of time that the player was going to travel. All that changed when Paul Pierce left KU early for the NBA. He got drafted by the Celtics, a team with a great history, but not living up to potential by failing to make the playoffs each year. Then came the coaching change and the team has progressed to a higher level each year. Then comes this year, finding Boston has moved to first place in their division. WOW

Oh, Janene. Yes my roommate James and I were in Manhattan, and we did have a blast. It really was a fun weekend, going out on Sat and just hanging and watching football. Even if the game's outcome did tick me off. One good thing was dinner Sunday night. We ate at Coco Bolo's Woodfire Grill. I looked for a website from them, but apparently they're more into cooking than technology, because they didn't have a website. The best I got was a review on the resturaunt. This is the type of place steer would really like to eat at, but the chances of getting them to Manhattan to eat there is pretty small. Christmas shopping is still not completed. Working on the planning of my shopping trips. I'm gonna do it this coming weekend. Since I'm a guerilla shopper, I need to know what I'm going in to buy, before I get to the stores. I'm not going to wander around the store looking for ideas. I need them beforehand.

Alright! After some technical difficulties this is finally my first post. That's it, thats the post. Pretty exciting wasnt it? Ok ok, so you say that's not so great and rambling as many of those others that contribute here. No need to worry, I have the gift just as jhawk and steer do, but I choose to calm that desire more often than they so the posts will not be as frequent as theirs. I must forwarn you that my comments may at times give you a bad picture of the military so if you want to keep your shining image of America's Hero (if you ever had that) then you shouldnt read anything I ever post because I get to see the soldiers (both officers and enlisted) at their best and their worst daily. This may be where I choose to vent my frustrations when no one around here cares....which is often because they all deal with it too. So that was your fair warning.

DAY 3 1/2
Man, what a morning I had. My first patient came in for an MRI. He's a 46 year old man who already has Parkinson's Disease and now is coming in to find out what is causing his face and muscles to relax. (This is not caused by the Parkinson's) While he waited, his wife came to me and said he felt as though he was going to faint. I went to get a bed ready for him and when I came back to get him, his wife was frantically screaming and crying-he had passed out. I grabbed his head--his eyes were wide open but moving around. I put his wife's hands where my were and grabbed a cold cloth to put on his head. I told her to hold it on his head and began yelling at him to give me a sign if he could hear me. Then his body goes completely limp--he stopped breathing. I screamed at my secretary to call ER. I unbuttoned his shirt which was completely soaked in sweat and tilted his head back to start CPR. It must have opened his windpipe just enough, because at that moment he gasped for air. Two ER nurses came in and we put him on a stretcher and took him to ER. Needless to say, once it hit me what had just happened, I needed a cigarette. I think after that, I DESERVED a cigarette. I will still continue to not smoke, but for the love of God, even if I didn't normally smoke I still would have wanted one. I'm just a radiology office manager for crying out loud!!

Well, I'm finally posting for ya Brian. Hope this works. For anyone that knows me, you will be happy to learn that I have not had a cigarette for over 20 hours. Sounds kind of pathetic right now, but I am quite proud of myself. I finally just decided yesterday, I don't want to do this anymore. It's too expensive, I've done it too long and I'm finally ready to kick it. I've had no craving what so ever. Actually, if I don't think about how I'm quitting or the thought of a cigarette at all, I don't want one. I will post about my progress, but like I said, don't want to talk about it too much or I may have one just because. I will admit that I have attempted to quit "cold turkey" before, but I felt different yesterday when I decided to do it. I am hoping for the best right now!

Ok, So I went to a James Taylor concert last night. He was great(if you're a James Taylor fan). Played for almost 3 hours, lots of encores. The only thing that marred the evening (not counting that we waited for an hour to eat before we got up and walked out) were the TT's that thought they were at a NASCAR race or rodeo or something. They kept yelling at him to play this or that, when he was trying to play. He even mentioned "I'm going to play music now". They must have emptied all the trailer courts last night. Should have used the spray system mentioned in an earlier blog. Of course it would have very humid in the place with all the water flying around.

Then of course the elevators don't work and we couldn't reset and the air conditioning goes off and had to call repair man. It's hard to get one to come out at 11:30 at night. Oh, well, trading my time for their money.

Friday is upon me! I accomplished much video game playing last night. Some stuff I'd been needing to get done for a long time. Still messing around with that Dreamweaver. Getting better at it. Works great when you know what you're doing. Too bad I don't know what I'm doing yet. We got more meetings this morning. From which nothing will get accomplished. The more I get into the corporate environment, the more I think Dilbert is funny. Scott Adams nailed it perfect.

Cold weather has moved in for good. I really don't like that either. I have actually completed some Christmas shopping. I still have a few things to pick up. The stuff for the people that I have no idea what to get them yet. I'll just brainstorm tonight and see what I can come up with.

Howdy people. I added a new biographies section to the site. It's a bit crude right now. Just wanted to get the code down first. Then I'll update.

Ever notice that people don't wave at you anymore
Ever notice that people don't wave at you anymore when you're driving? Maybe it's because some were using only one finger. My brother and I could identify ten people from my home town just by how they waved. It was a way to say, yes, i'm still alive and I'm ok for today. Let's start a campaign to bring back waving. You don't have to know the person. Just make a concerted effort tomorrow to wave at 5 poeple and see how many wave back. -- < Steer>

I've had a pretty boring afternoon so far. It's only 2:30 and I got an hour and half more to go. Trying to fool around with Dreamweaver. Not sure if I like it that much.

You know those people who are always doing something stupid? Either in public or otherwise? They will just continue to do so until they find a way to break their pattern. Most of the time they continue their attempts at eradicating common sense from world without any knowledge that they are even engaged in that endeavor. Nobody's pointed it out to them yet. I think we should start. Ok, here's the plan. First off we got to find a way to not only let them know that their action or words were dumb, but that there is a consequence to that dumb action. At first I thought we could all carry some sort of big stick and give a whack to those we see who needed one. Then, of course, there is always one idiot in the crowd who ruins it for everyone. Whacking someone too hard, too many times, or just because they don't like their shirt. So, I figured we could resort to things on an animal behavior type front. When you're trying to train a cat to stay off the table, you can take a small spray bottle of water and squirt the cat. Cat's hate water on them (and if you were covered in fur I'd think you would too). That's the approach we're going with here. We're going to carry spray bottles of water. If the next time someone expounds that they won't wear a safety belt because they know a guy who got killed in a car accident and they would have survived if they didn't have the belt on, SPRAY HIM! This technique should have a two prong effect. The surprise at being squirted should immediately stop the offender in their tracks and prevent further idiocy at that exact moment, and hopefully get them to examine why they just got sprayed. The second effect would be on a sort of emotional level. If you were standing in line at the supermarket all soaking wet and it wasn't raining outside, I think the people in line with you would just give you a wry little smile, knowing that they're in the presence of a record setting idiot. The embarrassment should help the offender try and change their ways. WHAT? Not a good idea? Ok. Got a better one to keep the run-ins with the common sense challenged at a minimum? I mean other than avoiding Wal-Mart?

Lost potential
Lost potential..
I've been onto several other blog sites from www.weblogs.com. I'm not doing enough on my blog to save the world. I don't know why this never dawned on me before, a weblog full of, if not actual facts, conjured up theories and opinions is the answer to the worlds ills. Oh, if only we could get enough email signatures to stop a possible war in Iraq. My site with its inane and pedestrian posts just isn't stopping any oppression in the world. Maybe I'll be eating crow some day soon when I see the headline on CNN MAN'S PERSONAL WEBLOG BRINGS WORLD PEACE
Ok so thats just my opinion. I tend to think people take themselves a bit too seriously sometimes. I get more enjoyment from the weblogs I read that just relay personal experiences, a bit of creative writing, and some content that you just identify with. I have my favorites, and the ones for which I have disdain. I will name neither here. Probably for legal reasons :-)

Grrrr!
If you've lived in the midwest of the U.S. or even visited there, you know that we've got some stereotypes of redneck hicks living here. I get a little disturbed at the people who help perpetuate these stereotypes. Mostly in the people who add hick-type statements prefaced to any sentence. Most notably "I'll tell you what....." As in "I'll tell you what, my Camaro has some rusted wheelwells." Ok, so just tell us already. We'll figure out that you are "gonna tell us what" at the exact moment that sound comes out of your mouth. We're all pretty savvy and we'll pick up on that one. Ok. Rant is over.

EMBARASSED
Apparently Geography isn't a subject anymore. Or at least it would seem that way for U.S. students. In a survey administered in several countries the U.S. ranked second to last. WOW! The survey can be found here. Want to take the quiz yourself? QUIZ ME

I always tell customers of ours to "read the license agreement" when you download software. You are giving up liability for certain things the software's gonna do to your machine. I admit that I don't always follow my own advice. This article may shed some light on why this will be of great importance in the future.

It has been a while since I posted. It was a hectic weekend. Or at least it seemed that way. I got the day off from work. Had some holiday time saved up that they're making me use before the end of the year. Not many days left that I could take, so I got it today. Not too bad. So, I've spent the morning trying to fix some issues with my computer. I ran my Ghost program and have been working all morning and into the afternoon, backing stuff up, getting drivers, installing windows updates. Gah!
