Thank you to Blog Studio for all the help over years! :)
(Feb 2010 Update): Haloscan is no more. Therefore the comments on this blog are no more. Sad, but true. I'm not paying $12 a year for the occasional comment with Echo. Apologies to all those who have commented. I have saved them and may well stick them somewhere else at some point.

John Edward - LondonLast Sunday we went to see John Edward, a famous American psychic medium. He has had two long running TV programmes: Crossing Over with John Edward and John Edward Cross Country. So, let's get a few things out of the way: 1. No - we didn't talk to the dead. 2. John Edward - was as "slick" on stage as per the TV programme - perhaps toooooooo slick for a UK audience where we are a bit more discerning. His messages and anecdotes were excellent, and his interaction with the audience was brilliant - it could have been filmed and aired without editing, a very nice evenings entertainment. 3. We had pre-booked tickets, so no waiting in line. 4. We weren't at the front. We were off to the left and about 50 or so rows back. At some points I used the (50p rental) "Opera glasses" that were attached to the seat, to see the stage. 5. The most important thing I learnt was - bring your own ice-cream(!) - at 3 British Sterling pounds, (this blog software doesn't recognise the pound sign?!), for a small tub of ice cream, I could have bought 1.5 pints of lager and had a much better time! ;O) There wasn't anything surreal, out-of-the-ordinary, or mystical going on - it really was like being in a John Edward TV programe. Ultimately, you'd have to say that in order to accept all that was going on, that you'd have to believe in what he was doing. At some points he seemed he wasn't being a "real" medium but just repeating data given to him or "reading" the body language/accent/clothing etc of the person he was reading. But genreally he was excellent as usual :O) Apparently John Edward is coming back next year, (2008), and will be appearing in other parts of the country, instead of doing the two gigs only he did last Sunday in London.

Job UpdateFor Maureen (!), and anyone else who was wondering just what exactly I'm up to in the employment world, it looks like this..... Today, Wednesday 19th September is the last day with Howden's Joinery, for which I was a Regional Compliance Auditor. (It's actually a vacation day so I'm sitting around doing nothing). Next Monday 24th September I start my new role as a Circulation Auditor with my new friends at the Audit Bureau of Circulation, or ABC as they are more commonly known. I'll be going around to newspaper and magasine publishers and verifying their circulation figures, and issuing them with a certificate. It all sounds like jolly good fun! :O) To all my friends and colleagues at, (what was once the "Stock Audit Dept"), DSGi - that's Dixons to you and me - who have recently gone through yet another "culling" by Dixons, and have found themselves without a job I wish you all the best wishes and good luck in the world to find future employment and I can really empathise with you - having gone through that crap myself a few years back (Remember that day when me, Jonathan & Jeff were the first to be given the chop?). There, Maureen - this blog's for you....lol... :O) - I'll promise to be here more frequently in future! :O)

ENGLAND WIN!I think it might be one of those Guiness Book of Records moments, but yesterday all the England soccer, cricket, and rugby national teams won all there respective games they were playing. Okay, we were playing the USA in rugby, and, as the current World Champions, if we had not had beaten them, it would have been a bit of a disgrace. And in the soccer match, (against that great footballing nation...er.... Israel?), there was no great competition either - and a 3 - 0 victory. The cricket was probably the best win - over India in the One Day Match series. Blimey - I never do a "sports blog" do I? Ha - let this be the one and only.... unless we get to a final somewhere and really rip someone to pieces....lol.... :O)

A Funny Thing Happened To Me On The Way To The Forum...I know - it's one of those searchable quotes that sure to get someone here expecting something about Frankie Howard or Up Pompeii. Anyway, a funny thing happened to me on the way to accessing Google actually. Google does not load. There - that wasn't too bad to admit, was it? For some odd reason I can't get the damned search engine homepage to appear. A very smart person on the Cre8asite forums gave me a link to the IP address for Google - so that seems to work. I am in the last week and a half of my current employ. It's a funny thing, (not funny ha ha), leaving one job and going to another. I'm glad and sad at the same time.... but probably more glad ;O). Everything is more brighter, rosier and full of optimism. Yes - things are looking up... unlike my internet earnings which appear to have reached an all-time static low. I really must invent some time-slowing-down-machine so I can catch up on all the online ecommerce activities I'm so far behind with. Yes, it's an unlikely event I know - but then who'd have thought that Britney Spears would be singing at the upcoming MTV Awards, eh? :O) Mobile Phone Yeah - when an image like that looms up on you, you can't resist it, right? Well - I can't resist it :O) Okay, time to blog off now. Have a nice weekend peeps! The weather is "summer!" in the UK this weekend. Tally ho! :O)

In Other News...I've changed jobs - again :O). Okay, it was only February this year that I moved from one industry "back" to another. However, a great opportunity has come my way to use all my QBE, (Qualified By Experience), in retail and internal auditing to move into the media industry. I'll soon be working for a company who verify the circualtion figures of newspapers & magasines, (and also the traffic figures for websites). And its' jolly exciting! :O) So, apologies, for not being so proactive here at Blogging With Dr P... recently, I've had a lot on my mind. However, just to show that I've not completely forgotten how to post photos up here - Spider Pig This is a piccie taken last week on the beach at Tenby in South Wales. Someone else has scraped the words Duff Beer in the sand - which could be seen from the cliff tops - and I'd sent that to my bro Joe on his mobile. I felt it was only right to complete the Simpson's Movie tribute with the above photo. :O)
