NBC and CBS are making TV shows available for viewing for 99 cents without commercials. If Blinkx got access to them, it could notify you when a TV show matches your search criteria via RSS feeds.
This is a few weeks after Walt Disney Co.'s ABC began offering commercial-free Internet downloads of its biggest hits, "Lost" and "Desperate Housewives," for $1.99 a piece.

The news also came the same day that file-sharing service Grokster Ltd. agreed to stop distributing software that allows users to copy songs without permission as part of a settlement with the recording industry.

This happened

1. Two days after Cheney surveys damage in Gulfport, New Orleans

The waiver applies to disaster areas in Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama and Florida. - Democrats immediately urged Bush to rescind the order. "Hurricane Katrina took away their jobs, now President Bush will take away their wages when they find new jobs," said House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi, a California Democrat. Halliburton profit will now be all that much larger. "Halliburton alone has earned more than $9 billion" in Iraq .

3. So fast! Bush can move fast, as long as it suits his base.

Georgia grenade was real and threat to Bush - FBI
The FBI said on Wednesday a grenade thrown at President Bush during a visit to Georgia last week had been a threat to the American leader and had only failed to explode because of a malfunction.

A White House spokesman also said then that Bush, who had visited the ex-Soviet republic to show support for its pro-Western government, had never been in danger.

White House says Newsweek report damaged U.S. image

It is the current administration that has brought the world to such a fragile state that such a story, wrong as it may be, could touch off such deadly reactions around the world.

More and more major media organizations are being attacked by the current administration as being unreliable. What past administration has ever done this to such an extreme degree? Can this be a strategy to pave the way for dictating without comment?

The US has announced that it is to re-impose quotas on three categories of Chinese textile imports, arguing that thousands of jobs are at risk but US does nothing when High-tech industry lost 333,000 jobs in 2003 and 25,000 jobs in 2004

My mistake, they are doing something, they are causing more high-tech jobs to be lost this week!
The U.S. ... is opening wide its doors Thursday (May 12, 2005) for 20,000 foreign nationals who wish to obtain H-1B visas. ...many of the applicants have high-tech and IT expertise.
